WebPlayer. What are the confirmed features of the next version?
Many of the new features in v1.4 addresses user requests and questions listed in this FAQ, regarding the currently available release (v1.33).
Please note that Ultimate FPS Camera 1.4 is a complete system rewrite, and will be a breaking release. That is: a game done in v1.33 will break in v1.4. This hurts but the restructuring is for a number of good causes, including: to make the system maintainable long-term (preventing similar future upgrade headaches) and to make the system cleaner and easier to work with. If you decide to modify the source scripts of v1.33, there are ways of reducing upgrade headaches slightly (see Upgrading).
* A complete structural overhaul. The new system is much more loosely coupled. That is, the components know less about each other and communicate via a delegate-based event system. The asset also has a new, cleaner directory structure.
* Full slow motion (a.k.a. Bullet Time) and pausing support + helper methods and numeous framerate independence fixes.
* Melee system (beta) for spring-based melee motions. Procedurally moves any arm & weapon model. No rigging or traditional animation involved / required.
* Completely rewritten controller physics simulation with more realistic collision deflection.
* Far more tweakable jumping, allowing more and better control over jump height and air speed.
* An advanced slope sliding feature, allowing the player to slide at fixed speed, or with an accumulating slide speed for out-of-control sliding. Also, fixes to prevent jumping up steep surfaces. Sliding motion is propagated to the camera and weapons which looks really cool.
* Integrated support for traditional animation on weapons, e.g. fire, reload, wield, along with a system for scheduling ambience / idle animations at random intervals.
* A weapon footstep motion system for increased realism of walking and running motions (inspired by Battlefield 3).
* New weapon retraction logic that pulls back the weapon on contact with external objects to avoid intersection. This makes it possible to use the system without the weapon camera, allowing e.g. external objects to cast shadows on the weapon.
* A new pivot rotation spring for the weapon, allowing rotations that were previously not possible.
Smooth forces can now be added to springs: an impact can be modeled over several frames.
* A new example scene with scripting examples for creating different kinds of item pickups and powerups. Includes an example health and death implementation with a "death camera".
* A primitive (placeholder) inventory class, concentrating all weapon and ammo item functionality in one place.
* Bullet shell casings now inherit the speed of the character controller which looks much better.
* Angular recoil can now be added around the Z vector, with a dead zone and randomness. In short, this allows for cooler and more aggressive recoil motion (inspired by Far Cry 3).
* Several tons of bugfixes (and perhaps a few new bugs
Re: Ultimate FPS Camera.
Un concurrent. Realistic FPS Prefab. Plus facile que Ultimate. D'un certain point de vu, plus complet. Ah, moins cher : 30$.
